The SX4 failed inspection, because of course. Anyway my dad took it to a mechanic who said it needed new o2 sensors, etc...and his response was “I’m getting rid of it soon, so just clear  the codes and pray it passes.” ITS FINALLY HAPPENING, MY PARENTS ARE ON 10 YARD LINE ON THE PATH TO BUYING A NEW CAR. FINALLY!!!!!

It’s crazy realizing their last BRAND new car was way back in like 05. The list so far is a Kia Niro, Hyundai Ionq, Toyota Prius, or a Nissan Leaf.

I. CANNOT. WAIT.

I was about to say, my parents last new car was in 2001, then I remembered they got my mom a new 2014 RDX in October 2013. My dad hasn’t gotten a new car since 1996. Although, I would have a hard time criticizing his current car.

Up until my Dad bought his Series.Yellow BRZ last summer the last time my family bought a brand new car was 2002 when my Dad bought a 2003 Impreza 2.5RS wagon.

I know the feeling. My parents went from 1991 to 2014 without buying a brand new car, although there was a brand new boat in 1997. They bought and sold a bunch of cars in that time period, but they were all either older autocross and sporty daily drivers for my dad, or a string of 1 -5 year old, low mileage cars and SUVs that were the family truckster driven primarily by mom .

Maybe I should talk to your dad and tell him that it’s a perfectly good car... just change the O2 sensors and he’ll be good for at least another 2-3 years!

My parents haven’t bought a new car ever. T he closest was the 2005 Venture th ey bought in October 2005.
